Outside of artist residency periods, Château de Monthelon offers the private hire of its workspaces and bedrooms for a variety of uses. The major renovation of all the château’s spaces was completed in 2024, so we can now welcome you in the best possible conditions — warm in winter and cool in summer!
Corporate events, works councils, associations, local authorities
If you’re looking for a venue for your seminars, conferences, team-building days, workshops, training sessions, retreats, networking events, receptions, Christmas parties… Château de Monthelon is ideal both for focused work and for festive, convivial gatherings. Depending on your needs, we can host you for a full day or half-day, or for several days with double-room accommodation, in the peace and quiet of our green surroundings.
If your event requires technical setup, we can offer the services of our stage manager.
Why not bring a touch of “Monthelon-style” poetry to your event?
Scenography, an offbeat table service, an artistic performance… we can think this through together.
Equipment available: chairs, tables, wifi, microphone and sound system, screen and video projector.
Professional training
We host professional training sessions run by training organizations as part of continuing education programs, with the possibility of on-site accommodation for trainees and trainers who are not local residents. This can include training in the arts and culture sector, but all training organizations looking for a venue are welcome. For circus training, the main hall has rigging points for aerial equipment.
Yoga retreats, art or wellness practice courses
Yoga, pilates, meditation, singing, and theatre teachers… Château de Monthelon is an ideal place to organize your retreat weeks or artistic practice courses, in a peaceful, natural setting.
It offers several suitable practice spaces (yoga room, main hall) and living spaces (a lounge with lovely acoustics, a fully equipped professional communal kitchen, 6 hectares of outdoor space with a flower garden and woodland, and even a swimming pool with a view over the Serein valley!). Several hiking trails are accessible around the château, as well as the medieval village of Montréal.
Maximum capacity:
9 to 18 people (7 double rooms and 2 studios) + additional caravan accommodation possible during the summer.
Available dates:
August, December 1st to February 15th, and certain long weekends in May and June.
Nearest train stations: Avallon (regional TER) 15km away and Montbard (TGV from Paris) 28km away.
Find photos, dimensions, and floor plans of our spaces on the Spaces page.
And also…
Take advantage of Monthelon’s network of local partners and service providers (sound and lighting equipment rental, etc.).
If you’d like catering during your stay, we can put you in touch with Molly, our resident cook, who offers delicious vegetarian menus.
Don’t forget !
Château de Monthelon is, above all, a place for artistic residencies, performance and festival showings, and everyday life.
You can read more about the history of the place here.
The whole Monthelon team — staff, volunteers, and resident artists — are committed to offering the best possible conditions to those who come to share this exceptional setting, and we’re known for the quality of our welcome. During your stay, you may cross paths with the resident artists (who live in a separate building), their families, and the animals. However, we are not hospitality professionals. We ask our guests to help keep the premises clean and to share communal spaces (courtyard, laundry room, etc.) considerately with us.
The ground-floor spaces are accessible to people with reduced mobility.
